Similar to the i8 and i9 version, Honeywell AirTouch follows a three-stage filtration process and claims to remove 99% of pollutants. Both feature some common features in them like:
- Child lock feature which switches off the function of the controls until removed
- Anti-fall feature
- 100% ozone free. Does not emit any ozone while in operation. This is a key feature of Honeywell.
- Inbuilt Sleep Mode which reduces the fan speed and thereby, noise
- An LED display screen on top. Laser sensors are used to monitor the AQI which is constantly displayed on the LED screen. An LED light also changes color based on the current AQI to either green, red or yellow.

There is a huge price gap between these two products. Honeywell Air Touch i8 takes the upper crust. It has a higher price tag and costs over INR 9000 more than Honeywell Air Purifier A5. 2. DESIGN AND SIZE DIFFERENCE
Design-wise, Air Touch A5 is more stylish than other purifiers in this category from different brands, but compared to the upgraded i8, it does not stand out as much. It weighs 8 kg and so is a kg heavier than Air Touch i8. Talking about height, it is slightly shorter as it is 58 cm high, whereas Honeywell i8 is 60 cms high. It uses ultra-durable Polycarbonate for its sturdy build. Overall, at a single glance, it is difficult to tell any differences between the models since Honeywell has maintained a similar design for all products in the Air Touch series.
3. COVERAGE AREA DIFFERENCE
Honeywell Air Touch i8 has a CADR of 300 cubic meter/ hr. and a coverage area of 36 sq.m. But in the case of Air Touch A5, the CADR is only 250 cubic meter/ hr. and it can cover up to 30 sq.m. This is not surprising considering the vast difference in price. The Air Touch A5 still outperforms it other contemporaries like the Philips AC4372.
4. AIR QUALITY INDICATOR
Honeywell i8 has a digital Air quality Indicator display which is a must if we consider its cost. This PM2.5 reading is very useful to determine the indoor air quality in quantitative terms of dust particles. Honeywell A5 on the other hand just displays the AQI through the colored ring LED encircling the Power button.
5. COLOR OPTIONS
Color options are similar for both A5 and i8, but not exactly the same. You can opt wither for a glossy white color or a champagne gold color in case of Air Touch i8. For Air Touch A5, available colors are a glossy white and a slightly different shade of gold that veers more towards a bronze shade. In the case of the white option, the meshes on the side are black and even the top plate with the control panel is black. For gold, the side meshes are white and the top plate is mostly white except for the control panel region, which is black.
FILTERS
Both contain a pre-filter for removing pollutants beyond PM10. In the inside, a HEPA filter is used for removing smaller PM2.5 pollutants. Additionally, there is also a carbon filter. The Honeywell Air Touch i8 uses a HiSiv filter, which is a technology patented and created by Honeywell itself. But Air Touch A5 uses a regular Activated carbon filter. The filters have a shelf life of 3000 hours in both cases.
NOISE AND SLEEP MODE
The fans of Air Touch A5 (HAC25M1201W) make more noise than Air Touch i8 so light sleepers should be wary before settling for this product. The operating sound ranges from 44 dB to 66 dB. You can see that the lower sound range is higher for the A5 than for i8. The lowest sound for Air Touch i8 was 38 dB. At night, these few decibels can result in a world of difference in sleep quality!
