How To Remove Stains With Washing Machine

Chewing Gum, Adhesive Tape, Rubber, Cement

Put the cloth into the freezer for sometime. If that is not possible, rub some ice over the gum. This will harden it and then it comes off easily. Use white spirits to remove what is leftover.

Blood

If the stains are fresh then soak immediately in water. For dried out stains use enzyme based detergents in cold water.

Chocolate

Sponge with cold water and soak in an enzyme based detergent like Vanish. If stains still not go away, then rub the detergent directly and rinse in cold water.

Collar, Cuffs and Cosmetics

Rub a soap bar on the dirty portions. Use a stain remover and rinse off.

Coffee

Try to soak up the coffee immediately. Rinse in cold water and put some detergent. After this rinse in whatever maximum hot water the fabric allows.

Deodorant

Deodorants often discolor or stain your clothes with purple color especially the under-arms. Use white vinegar for rubbing on the affected area. Vinegar is a solvent for the chemicals present in deodorant. Enzyme pre wash may also be required.

Grease, Oil

Place your cloth inside out onto an absorbent cloth. Rub some detergent on the back of the stain and then wash normally.

Iron Rust

Pour some lemon juice and sprinkle salt on the stain and leave under the Sun. After sometime wash normally.

Ink Or Nail Polish

Inks may be a tough customer to handle. Use pre wash stain remover, denatured alcohol or give the cloth for dry cleaning. Acetone can easily remove nail polish stains.

Scorch Marks

Sometimes your iron is too hot for the cloth and leaves a mark. Dampen a cloth with H2O2 which is hydrogen peroxide and lay it over the affected area. Again iron over it and see if it goes away.

Grass

Children’s slide against the grass and their clothes get green stains. Sponge the area with white spirits and run Vanish strain remover.

Mildew

Sometimes fungus grows on cloths in rainy seasons when the sunlight is limited. Wash such clothes in warm water. Dampen the area with lemon juice and leave to dry in Sun. If stains still persist then use a bleach if the fabric allows.
